The biggest limiting factor in your business

Nov 08, 2024

limiting factor is simply a variable that constrains your progress.

In business, most people hop into the idea that this is their content, marketing, offer, sales system or whatever else.

And sure one of these, or all of these, may be a limiting factor in your business.

But none of them are the limiting factor.

So what is?

Well to answer that, you need to know what limits your growth or progress the most.

And that’s nothing but the thing that makes the decisions and takes the actions in your business - after all, if they’re crap, your business will suffer.

And that thing is you.

You make the decisions. You take the actions. You develop the strategies. You do the important work.

Hence, your biggest limiting factor in business, will always, and I mean always, be you.

You’re the one who creates every other limiting factor in your business.

You’re the one who creates the limiting sales system.

You’re the one who avoids the important work.

You’re the one who can’t focus.

You’re the one who doesn’t have the energy to attack their work.

You’re the one who can’t make good decisions due to brain fog, stress and overwhelm.

You are the limiting factor.

And look, this can seem harsh. I get it.

But I don’t say this to be a twat, I say this in an effort to help you stop holding yourself back, to open your eyes to your ignorance and give you an opportunity to make meaningful improvement.

Because if you never master yourself, you’ll never master your business.

If you don’t learn how to master your mind, shift your identity, and focus, perform and operate at your peak, then you’ll never maximise your business and in turn, your life.

Look, this isn’t me saying not to work on improving the systems, strategies or plans in your business. This obviously needs to be done.

But in order to improve them, you need to be capable of improving them.

And chances are, if you haven’t improved them it’s because you’re not yet capable of doing so.

Maybe you have so much brain fog or overwhelm that you can’t get clear on what tasks matter or the next plan of action.

Maybe you struggle with consistency so much that you never build momentum or experience compounding.

Maybe you’re so unproductive it takes an entire day to do what should only take 1-2 hours.

And in turn, you limit both your potential and your business potential.

Now of course, I’m not going to leave you hanging like that. I’m going to give you a solution.

So what is it?

Well simply, you need to conduct a performance audit.

This is something we do when onboarding all our clients are self-mastery.co - we audit their entire performance extensively, from mindset to productivity to business. And you should do the same.

Simply ask yourself a series of reflective and probing questions in those areas. Get a sense of what your strengths are, what your weaknesses are, how you deal with certain situations, how you handle stress, procrastination and time.

And then review them. Figure out your biggest bottlenecks - this will typically be obvious.

And then find the solutions to those bottlenecks and implement the solutions so that you remove that bottleneck that is yourself - and then watch as you take both you and your business to the next level.

This is what I do with my clients in the onboarding process to form the foundations of our 12 weeks - and it works so well I give them actionable insights that creates wins that improve their performance (and in turn business) before we even start our first coaching call.
