The 3 mindsets you need to build for Self-Mastery
Nov 06, 2023Back when I was in university, me and a friend tried dropshipping.
We were convinced this was how we were going to make millions, retire to the Amalfi coast, and sip champagne on the back of a yacht.
Well… let’s just say it didn’t go to plan.
My store was making 0 sales.
I was spending a tonne of money (for what I had at the time) on ads, yet nothing would work.
My friend on the other hand was making sales every damn day.
It made me livid. I was furious.
Not at him. But at the fact he was succeeding and I wasn’t.
And the best part?
I blamed everything but myself, my product, ads, store or anything else I could control.
I blamed what I couldn’t control. I saw his success as a sign I couldn’t succeed. I let my emotions get the better of me.
Eventually, I closed my store down and moved on to the next online business venture, and something similar would continue to happen.
But as I got deeper into the world of self-improvement and Self-Mastery - I realised I was my bottleneck.
That I was the reason I wasn’t achieving any of my goals or getting close to my potential.
I realised that my mindset was ruining any chances of success that I had.
Now, from the moment I realised this, it took close to a year to figure out and build mindsets that instead of limiting me, propelled me.
But in that process, I figured out that there are 3 mindsets that are ESSENTIAL for unlocking your true potential, achieving Self-Mastery, and smashing every goal you set.
Stoicism
Stoicism is an ancient philosophy that has many facets but the primary message revolves around you focusing only on what you can control.
Your thoughts, words, and actions.
If you can’t control it, don’t worry about it. It’s wasted energy ruining your perception of life. Focus on what you can control, make an impact, and live a happier life.
Abundance
If you see something (eg. money or success) as scarce, you’ll struggle to come across it.
Your mind believes there’s not a lot out there, hence if you come across an opportunity to get it, you’ll subconsciously push yourself away from it.
When you have an abundance mindset, you do the opposite.
You subconsciously start to look for and put yourself in the way of opportunities.
Extreme Ownership
To improve, you must accept responsibility.
If you don’t take extreme ownership and accept responsibility, you pass the blame and the power - and if you don’t have the power and it’s not your fault, how can you improve?
By taking extreme ownership and responsibility, you accept the blame, the power, and the opportunity to improve.
Without these 3 mindsets, you WILL fuck yourself over and sabotage your progress.
You’ll never unlock your true potential, achieve Self-Mastery or smash any goal you set.
These mindsets are essential for both success and quality of life.
But if you want to build these mindsets, you first need to remove the mindsets that are holding you back.
I go over how to:
-
Identify limiting mindsets
-
Remove limiting mindsets
-
Build empowering mindsets
