Stop holding yourself back (do this)

When I had only a few thousand followers I thought getting to 10,000 followers, never mind 100,000 followers was impossible.

I would grow at less than 10 followers a day.

Heck, most of the time I would lose more followers than I gained.

But 3 years later I’ve got over 500,000 followers across all platforms.

So what the fuck changed?

How did I get here?

Well, one of the most fundamental mistakes I made when I wasn’t growing was that my identity was messed up.

Let me explain.

You see when I had 1000 followers, I saw myself as a 1000-follower brand.

That was my identity.

And so everything I did, the type of content I made, the quality of the content, the way I networked - it all reflected my identity.

And because I saw myself as a 1000-follower brand, I struggled to grow past it.

But when I made the switch to viewing myself as a 100,000 follower brand, I hit 10,000 followers, 50, 000 followers, and 100,000 followers with ease.

Now I’ve got 500,000 followers I view myself as a multi-million follower brand.

Do I have a million followers? No, not yet.

But because my identity aligns with being a multi-million follower brand, it’s only a matter of work and time before it happens.

If I never crafted an identity that was favourable to me, I would never have grown.

I would still be stuck at a few thousand followers.

Long story short;

If you believe you’re the type of person to only have 1000 followers, you’ll only have 1000 followers.

If you believe you’re the type of person to only make $2000/month, you’ll only make $2000/month.

Because you can never go further than the limits of the identity you’ve prescribed for yourself.

So whatever you want to achieve, take the time to craft and alter your identity to match that goal.

• What actions would a person who has “insert your goal” take?

• What habits would they have?

• What mindset would they have?

• How would they carry themselves?

Craft an identity that favours your success, not one that limits it.
